Frequently Asked Questions!

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read more information on my shoots and what they involve, I’ve put together a little post of my Frequently Asked Questions so please read on!

Where does the shoot take place?

For shoots with little ones I will either come to your home or your preferred outdoor location, these shoots are very relaxed and all about you as a family, enjoying yourselves and having fun. You may not remember your child sitting neatly in a chair with a forced grin when he or she grows up, you are more likely to recall their cheeky smile or grubby knees from when playing in the mud.  These are the photos I hope to achieve, natural and just how you want to remember them! If you need help with outdoor inspiration I have plenty of places in Surrey and Hampshire that I can recommend. Some of my favourites include West End Common, Sheapleas and Frensham Little Ponds.

How long is the session?

Sessions last approx. 1.5 hours, although I allow up to 2 hours for newborn sessions as we will need to allow for feeding and changing. Sometimes we wrap up within an hour, but I won’t stop the session unless I know I have it nailed!

Is travel included?

Yes, within 25 miles of Walton-On-Thames, Surrey. Outside of this there would be a 45p per mile charge. I generally limit my sessions to Surrey, Hampshire and some parts of Sussex. If you’re interested in a shoot taking place outside of these areas, please get in touch and I’ll do my best to accommodate!

Do I need to prepare for our newborn shoot?

I have a few blankets and muslins I can use in my sessions but my focus for newborn shoots is taking natural, beautiful photos of your new baby and yourselves. I don’t believe in posing babies into unnatural positions and photoshopping them, I’d rather concentrate on the delicate features and those precious cuddles in the first few days. I always invite any family heirlooms, or new gifts such as blankets so please just ask during the shoot and we’ll include them!

The weather isn’t looking too great, can we postpone?

Yes, if it’s going to be a downpour then I’ll always happily reschedule for the next available timeslot, I usually keep an eye on the weather so will get in touch if it’s looking iffy and we can work out what’s best to do.

I can’t make that date anymore, can we move it?

I’m happy to postpone the shoot free of charge with more than 72 hours notice, unless it’s an emergency. If we cannot agree a new date to re-schedule the shoot within a reasonable time-frame of the original booking, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the Superior package may incur. Please get in touch for more info on all packages offered. All cancellations less than 72 hours incur the loss of your session fee.

Do you require a deposit?

If you’re ready to book then the non refundable session fee is payable at the time of securing the date. Please see my pricing page or brochure for more details on this.

What happens after the session?

Since I carefully curate each image I choose to edit, I will deliver your password protected gallery within two weeks of the shoot. All images in the gallery will be professionally edited by myself in my unique editing style. From here you’re free to share these with family and friends whilst you make your decisions on which collection or which products you’d like.

Is there a minimum spend?

Once the session fee has been paid, there is an obligation to purchase one of the packages as stated in my pricing page within two weeks after the gallery has been delivered. If you haven’t made your choice after 30 days, I will invoice for the minimum package amount.

What if I have other questions?

Please feel free to call or email me! I’m more than happy to answer any queries you have, and chat through what you’re planning and make the session work for you!
